Getting rid of rubbish

Rather than trying to explain exactly how we get rid of our rubbish here in Mexico, we thought we would try and capture it on a short video. Hope you enjoy it. I always love getting rid of rubbish, so do our friends Peter & Teresa. We always say what a good feeling it is when we get rid of it!!

Yesterday at church, Ismael preached on Nehemiah, and how God gave him a desire to rebuild the city walls & also a vision for the work (Neh 4). The job of rebuilding the walls was HUGE and the first thing he needed to do was clear the garbage away. God does not want any 'rubbish' in our lives to separate us from him. Our lives should be built upon the foundation of God, The Rock - not rubbish.

Hope you enjoy this short video - please leave a funny comment :P

P.S. Please note I did not use the word that American's use for rubbish/garbage...

So, how do you know when they will come? Do you need to be home all day?

Well they usually come a few times a week at all different times...if we are at home and hear the bell and have rubbish we just run downstairs! Did you like the video??

Haha! I liked the video. Your rubbish man rings a louder bell than ours. I never thought to post a video on my blog. Hmmmm. I might learn a thing or two from you.

Say, can I post yours in a link for the other Oaxaca ladies?

OAXACA! if there's one thing about mexicans it's that they're loud! be it rubbish, water, gas or food - they got their horn, bell or loudspeaker to wake you up early morning haha...

It's nice that stop right outside your place!:) Is that cos they know you guys are always faithful in getting rid of your garbage? I wish they did that here cos often if I leave things that aren't in the bin they will just leave it there so I have to wait weeks to get rid of all of it!! Anywayz... when the video first started I thought that the bin was going to pull up and you would throw it from your balcony into the truck and be kind of a hit and miss... if Brad hasn't tried that then he needs too! Get a nice strong plastic bag and swing it a couple of times and then unleash it... if he misses it seems he would have plenty of time to go and get it ORR a better idea... you should throw the garbage guy a piece of rope and then put the rubbish on a trolley system, that would only be when you have heaps!:))

Wow, Danny and I would be out of luck! We would never be around to hear the bell. We would end up downing in our rubbish! I'm with Stephen, I, too, thought that you were going to throw it out of your balcony! HA! I liked the video and the little mini sermon, too! Love,
Vicki

Well these are the garbage guys that you have to PAY. The ones that are free only come on Fridays and it's down the end of the street, you have to be realllly quick, they don't stay very long. Sorry didn't throw the rubbish off the balcony!
